The concert special "Marvin Hamlisch Presents: The Way We Were - The 70's" will begin airing this summer on PBS. Performers include B.J. Thomas, Debby Boone, Bobby Goldsboro, Three Dog Night, Gloria Gaynor, Guy and Ralna, Peaches and Herb, Marvin Hamlisch and more. BJ is on the cover and featured in an article in the June. 2010 issue
of Distinctly Oklahoma Magazine.

The movie, "Jakes Corner", in which B.J. appeared and contributed songs to the soundtrack
is available on DVD now! You can purchase a copy of the movie on their website at

Amazon.com, and your local retailers in your hometown.

For those of you who have been searching for some of B.J.'s early LP music on CD,
Collectors Choice Music has released 4 new collections. Each collection contains two of the early
LP releases on one CD. For more information on the CDs and track listings, see our new releases page.

B.J. will be hosting the 8th Annual Academy of Texas Music Awards, which will be held
May 15th 2010 at the Marshall Civic Center in Marshall Texas.

The Academy of Texas Music is a non-profit organization formed to recognize and provide
education to talented Texas musicians. The Academy produces music education programs,
scholarship recognition projects and benevolence programs for musicians in need.

On July 1st, 2008 sterling Publishing released a paperback
collection of classic song lyrics titled "Little Giant Encyclopedia -
Classic Songs". The introduction in the book is written by B.J.
This 512 page book can be pre-ordered online at bookstores
such as Barnes & Noble and Amazon.

The songs covered in this book are favorite Irish songs, traditional Scottish and
English songs, Shanties and Sailing Songs, Stephen Foster, Civil War Songs,
favorites from the turn of the century, Christmas songs, and children’s
songs. You’ll find all the words to such classics as “O Danny Boy,”
“Auld Lang Syne,” “Amazing Grace,” “Take Me Out to the Ball Game,”
“O, Susanna,” “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” “Give My Regards to Broadway,”
and many, many more.

B.J. appears in the Jeff Santo directed film titled "Jakes Corner".
B.J. plays the part of "Doc", a Vietnam veteran, in the movie. "Doc's" wife "Gina",
is played by B.J.'s real-life wife, Gloria! For more information on the project, click here.

B.J. has also recorded several songs that are on the soundtrack for the movie.

Pathways to Spirit is a non-profit, all volunteer organization dedicated to providing material
assistance and promoting cultural preservation on the American Indian reservations of South
Dakota. One of their new projects is to build straw bail houses with the assistance of the Native
American families that will live in them.

the price of a birthday card will make a difference. It costs $10,000 to build one straw bale
house. Let’s set a goal of building one.

I believe and support the mission of Pathway to Spirit to meet the basic needs of Native Americans. The director of Pathways has also agreed to set up a fund to educate Brazilian, Cristhian Eduardo. On my recent tour of Brazil, I was moved by one little boy whose dream is to grow up and make a difference with Brazilian environmental issues. for his contribution to music. The award was presented to B.J. on the Senate floor of the Oklahoma
Legislature during the February 21st, 2007 Legislative session.
